The ServoCat is a motor drive system that is designed to make an astronomical telescope track the object that the user is viewing keeping it centered in the eyepiece. It has three components, an electronics box which receives input from a hand pad control, the ArgoNavis and the two drive motors.

The two drive motors connect up to the azimuth and altitude bearings via either a cable or friction drive system. It is a DC servo system and is very smooth the objects just appear to float in the same place. It is possible to release the drive system to turn the scope back into a manual instrument also.
